Skills Building
Today you will be writing your story.
A good story has amazing characters. It has a beginning, middle, and end. It needs a punctuation too.
Punctuation helps you to read stories. For example, let's play a game.
Read the paragraph below out loud. Stop to take a breath every time you see a full stop.
According to all known laws of aviation there is no way a bee should be able to fly its wings are too small to get its fat little body off the ground the bee of course flies anyway because bees don't care what humans think is impossible.
Did you do it? It was hard, wasn't it?
Try to read the paragraph again. I've added full stops into it, so this time, it should be easier. Remember, you can stop to take a breath every time you see a full stop.

Full stops, help you to know when a sentence has finished and you can breathe.
Sometimes, a sentence finishes with an exclamation mark (!), or a question mark (?). The exclamation marks are used for sentences that are read with a lot of excitement or anger.
Read each of these sentences out loud, as loud as you can.
I am yelling, loudly!
I really love cats!
I don't like carrot flavoured ice cream!
I am an amazing super-duper kid!
Good job! You've learnt how sentences with an exclamation mark are read. Next, we're going to learn about question marks (?). Question marks are used at the end of questions. Let's a play a game, every time you read a question stand up. Every time you don't read a question sit down.
Does today end with the letter y?
Yes.
What's your name?
My name is __________
Did you have pizza for breakfast?
Nope.
Well done! You're really smart, huh? The last thing, I'm going to teach you before I let you write your own stories, is how to use quotation marks " ". Quotation marks help you know when a character is talking in a story.
Let's play another game, if a sentence is in quotation marks, say it in a funny voice. If it is not in quotation marks, say in your normal voice.
"I am going to school" said Tim happily.
"Have a great day at Dinosaur School" replied Tim's mum, as she waved him goodbye with her tiny Tyrannosaurus arms.
"Let's play hide and seek all over the galaxy!" excitedly said the astronaut to the alien.
"One day, I'll be the best guitarist." whispered Dia as she lonelily tuned her guitar.

Test your knowledge and see if you remember what the moral of the story is.
